Jason Collins, Director of Operations for Abode Hotels, is a testament to perseverance, adaptability, and growth. Born and raised in Canberra, Jason started his professional management journey at just 17, working full-time in the hospitality industry. During this first management role, he developed critical skills in time management, productivity, and leading teams under pressure. His next management role within the retail industry helped establish his abilities, teaching him structure, organisation, and team management across various departments.

Looking to return to hospitality, Jason joined Abode Hotels as a receptionist at Abode Woden. It was here he found his passion was in the hospitality industry, quickly progressing to Duty Manager and then Hotel Manager at Murrumbateman—a milestone achievement as the first manager promoted without previously serving as an Assistant Manager.

Jason’s career growth within Abode Hotels reflects his drive and commitment from managing clusters of hotels in Belconnen and Gungahlin to stepping into the Director of Operations role. Jason has consistently delivered results while building meaningful relationships, during COVID-19, he embraced opportunities to broaden his skillset, learning from the challenges of the industry and gaining a deeper understanding of the business as a whole.

Now as Director of Operations, Jason’s focus is on aligning brand procedures to ensure every Abode Hotel achieves its goals while maintaining a personal connection. Jason takes pride in his high emotional intelligence, ability to identify outcomes, and drive team success. Motivated by growth and inspired by mentors within the group, Jason continues to look for ways to develop his career and assist Abode Hotels as it enters its next chapter. Passionate, grounded, and ambitious, Jason is excited about the opportunities ahead.
