UNSW’s recently released master plan to build their proposed $3billion campus on the eastern edge of the city has firmly announced Canberra as Australia’s leading tertiary town.
With a central location just minutes away from both the ANU and the site of proposed UNSW campus, Geocon says it’s city development Metropol is attracting attention from investors and first home owners.
They say buyers are looking for easy connections to places where they study, meet friends, to transport and the city centre. Metropol ticks all these boxes, and then some.
For investors, Metropol‘s three residential towers, comprising 550 apartments and boutique commercial spaces on the ground floor, present an obvious opportunity for high quality university accommodation
Metropol is now just four months away from completion. Already students at ANU have begun returning to campus following the challenges of the pandemic, with numbers expected to swell back to about 26,000 between ANU and UNSW by the time the new campus is fully operational
While investors have been busy snapping up stock at Metropol, the mix of one, two and three bedroom apartments have attracted buyers from all corners of the market.
“We’ve seen significant interest from investors, but first home owners and downsizers have also been buying here too,” Head of Sales, Adam Morgan said.
“Our location really is a big selling point, along with the lifestyle that affords. We’re within walking distance of just about everything,” he continued.
“We’re a 10 minute walk from ANU; eight minutes to Lake Burley Griffin; we’re six minutes’ walk from Braddon, which has some terrific bars and restaurants; we’re also a stone’s throw from the CBD; and we’re almost opposite Glebe Park, so as far as location goes, it’s hard to top.”
Mr Morgan also says Metropol precinct represents an “inner city habitat” that has considered “every modern convenience”.
Close bus stops, light rail, walking and bike tracks, and the city’s arterial roads, Metropol is easily accessible.
The apartments were designed with style and comfort in mind. They all come with high quality durable finishes as standard, including stone benchtops and reverse cycle air conditioning. Metropol precinct also has top quality exclusive facilities. .
Amenity was a key consideration during the design process at Metropol. Residents will enjoy facilities like infinity plunge pools, an in-house cinema, roof top dining spaces, gardens, a chef kitchen and more.
Mr Morgan says Metropol, above all else, is a sanctuary. A place where “privacy is just one of the many luxuries you’ll experience from the moment the doors close behind you”.
“Metropol’s butterfly design creates a delightful flow and rhythm between the three towers, and each has it’s own distinct identity,” he said.
“The vertical lines and angled facades contrast most Canberra residential developments and ultimately has a commanding street presence. It’s stunning.”
