In recent weeks, an amazing 90 per cent of the demolition materials from NRMA House have been trucked off the Midnight site to be recycled.

Industrial recycling facilities around Canberra will crush the concrete to make bollards, which Geocon will use to control traffic and mark out exclusion zones on the Braddon site. The crushed concrete may also be reused by others as road base and to control bank erosion.

The steel mesh and portal frames will be melted down and reprocessed and the bricks crushed to a dust that could be used by industry to partially replace cement in concrete.

Geocon is committed to sustainable building and helping the environment wherever possible.
