How we work

At Geocon, it’s all about the team. Everyone has their job to do and, together, we are shaping the future of Canberra. We are building the national capital’s most iconic high-rise apartments, amazing multi-use precincts, and smart hotel accommodation for the modern traveller, all situated in the thriving hubs of the city’s major town centres.

And we are building people too. Geocon is an employer of choice. Our company-specific Enterprise Bargaining Agreement with our construction workers delivers greater flexibility and benefits and, while our people are the best in class at what they do, we also strive for opportunities that will enable them to grow and develop, whatever their chosen field. The pace is high, and the jobs rewarding.

Geocon is a company on the move and we’re always on the lookout for talented, passionate, driven people who will rise to the challenge of being part of our dynamic and multi-faceted company.
We’re proud of our heritage as builders and developers. That is our core business, and we welcome applications from those interested in construction work including development and design professionals.

But there are also many employment opportunities outside of construction in our hotels and corporate operations including: business administration, finance and accounts, human resources, marketing and communications, information technology, project management, project administration, site supervisors, construction workers, hotel managers, hospitality staff, front office, reception, reservations and housekeeping.

Graduate program

Our people are the lifeblood of our organisation, from the construction workers in the field to the front-of-house staff at each hotel. We currently employ more than 160 people and have created more than 1000 indirect jobs, with new opportunities coming to the fore as the company expands.

Our goal is to produce graduates who will be our future Foremen, Site Managers, Project Engineers and Project Managers on landmark developments – opportunities which can only be accessed by working for Geocon.
