Kingston Arts Precinct project coming to life.
Kingston Arts Precinct takes big step forward
STATEMENT FROM GEOCON MANAGING DIRECTOR, NICK GEORGALIS
We have taken a huge step towards making the Kingston Arts Precinct a reality, with contracts now officially signed to bring this project to life.
The Kingston Arts Precinct is the most highly anticipated development Geocon has ever set out to achieve.
Canberrans are looking to us, to bring culture, vibrancy and excitement to the Kingston Foreshore and we are now ready to deliver.
The $750 million precinct will be on the radar of international tourists, the international arts community, foodies, the business community, musicians, entertainers and people who are simply looking for a place to have a good time.
Since becoming preferred tenderer two years ago, we’ve worked closely with the ACT Government to create something special at Kingston Foreshore, which will stand the test of time as a world-class precinct. For us, this is a legacy project which will become an intrinsic part of Canberra’s culture for the next 100 years, or more.
The precinct will include retail, restaurants, commercial office space, a luxury range of residential apartments and much more.
But most importantly for Canberra, this development will be built with the arts community as its focus. It will be a place where big ideas are born, where Canberra’s creative heart can flourish.
I am pleased to report that the plans we will submit go above and beyond what anyone could have dreamt for this site.
It will become a world-famous visual arts hub, thrusting Canberra onto the international stage as a community which embraces and fosters culture, artists and vibrancy.
We can’t wait to take the next step with the ACT Government and Canberra's arts community.
