Canberrans and visitors will now be seeing the revegetation of completed areas along stage one of the light rail network and hearing about the community consultation by the ACT Government and National Capital Authority (NCA) on the City and Gateway Draft Urban Design Framework.

In particular, the government is seeking feedback by 6 May on the proposal to develop mixed-use activity areas around the Dickson and Macarthur stops along stage one of the network. Have your say.

After re-stating its commitment to extending light rail to Woden, the ACT Government has also announced its preferred route for stage two will include the employment and national institution hubs of Parkes and Barton around Capital Hill, National Circuit and Adelaide Avenue. The next step is for the Transport Minister Meegan Fitzharris to continue working through the details of the route (which includes heritage areas and sites of national importance) with the federal government and other stakeholders.

When completed, stage two of the light rail will arrive in Woden on the doorstep of Geocon and Zapari’s brilliantly located and breathtakingly designed Grand Central Towers development.
