In the four weeks since the Grand Central Towers VIP launch on 22 March, Geocon has sold another 50 apartments, including the penthouse, bringing the sales record to date to 300. And the buzz created by the development continues with the recent agreed sale of all of the 12 ground-floor commercial units to investors. Each of the units is now available for lease through Geocon.

With construction set to begin in late 2018 and completion due in mid-2020, we’re now seeking food and service tenants to occupy the units facing the bustling transport interchange. These spaces, and those that will face Bowes Place, are set to play an important role in the revitalisation of Woden.

Geocon is offering $70 million in commercial spaces, including ones in six of its other developments across Canberra. Midnight in Braddon, due for completion in mid-2019, will feature approximately 2,000sqm of ground and upper level commercial space with lift access from the basement car park and hotel lobby. Facing Ainslie Avenue on the city fringe, the high-quality mixed-use development, Metropol, will provide 11 commercial units (over 800 sqm of space) over two stages, suitable for retail, office or community uses.

Just three ground-floor commercial units remain in Wayfarer, Belconnen. Close to Lake Ginninderra, a secondary college and the University of Canberra, the units range in size from 99 to 179 sqm and are suitable for office, hospitality and non-retail commercial activities.

Across the road, in the first and second stages of the Republic precinct due for completion in 2020, the 6,300 sqm of commercial space designed by architects Fender Katsalidis will house restaurants, cafes, shops and offices, complemented by activated internal laneways, ‘green’ stairs and planters as well as wide footpaths, street trees, and a bike hub.

Ready-to-occupy offerings in Tuggeranong include space within the Southport and Vue developments, with more in the pipeline, including commercial offerings within WOVA in Woden and the Kingston Arts Precinct.
