Geocon has appointed Kristen Porter to the new role of Group General Counsel.

“As Canberra’s largest developer of high-rise residential apartments and mixed-used developments, Geocon is experiencing rapid growth across our residential, hospitality and investment portfolios,” Managing Director Nick Georgalis said.

“With this growth we have an increasing demand for high level legal advice and support so it is the right time to augment the excellent legal services we get from our various consultants, with an inhouse resource.

“After an extensive recruitment process we have appointed Kristen Porter to the new role of Group General Counsel.

“Kristen has the perfect blend of experience having worked in corporate and commercial law for more than 12 years in private law firms such as Meyer Vandenberg, and most recently as Legal Counsel for Icon Water, particularly dealing with matters relating to building and construction, property, planning and environment, structuring and corporate governance.

“Moreover, Kristen has property in her blood, being the third generation of a family involved in real estate, property investing and developments.”

As Group General Counsel, Kristen will be responsible for managing all legal, risk and company secretariat functions of the Geocon Group, with a focus on providing strategic legal advice in the developments and acquisitions space.

“Following Michelle Rowe’s recent appointment as Geocon’s Group Head of Communications we are delighted to welcome another exceptional talent to our senior leadership team,” Mr Georgalis said.

Kristen can be contacted on 02 6255 0430.
