About the role 

Geocon is seeking an accomplished and collaborative Project Director to oversee the management of the upcoming Kingston Arts Precinct development in conjunction with ACT government. The ACT government has committed $78 million to the precinct, including $50 million for dedicated arts facilities. Geocon’s investment in the broader mixed-use precinct is likely to be in excess of $200 million.

The Kingston Arts Precinct will be a fully integrated precinct including arts facilities along with public, commercial and residential areas. Geocon’s design for the precinct incorporates the existing heritage buildings from Kingston Foreshore’s rich history which dates to Canberra’s earliest days in 1913.

 

Key responsibilities include:

Develop the Project and Program Delivery Capability

Manage personnel in accordance with Geocon’s policies, ensuring only personnel with appropriate skills and qualifications are assigned to carry out required duties

Achieve Revenue and EBIT, ($ and %), budget targets through delivering a profitable project

Manage Labour and Fleet utilisation to maximise cost recoveries

Manage claims and debtors to minimise working capital requirements

Assist delivery team to identify and secure margin improvement opportunities, contract variations and to manage commercial risks

Ensure delivery team use relevant quality procedures and comply with PDS requirements across the portfolio

Ensure the delivery is programmed efficiently to meet stakeholder requirements

 

Skills required:

Construction qualifications desirable, Project Manager Diploma or Cert IV highly desirable

Understanding of project and program management best practice, tools, techniques, market trends and product innovation

Ability to achieve results through influencing outcomes and stakeholder development and negotiations

Demonstrated experience driving cultural change given the commercial focus in the business

Ability to build, manage and support a high performance, outcomes-oriented team
