About the role
Due to ongoing growth & an ever-expanding pipeline of work, GEOCON is looking for a qualified Pre-Construction Manager to play an important role in the initial phase of upcoming projects.
Key responsibilities include:
Management of multiple construction projects at various initial stages
Maintain effective relationships with managers and site teams
Management of any DA/NOD conditions with assigned Development Manager
Liaising with appropriate authorities and utility providers for preliminary advice and design acceptance
Manage tender process including assessment of tenders and preparation of recommendations for all design consultants (CA will be appointed to assist with administration)
Provide input for construction methodology and staging at conceptual design phase
Provide strategies for materials handling, logistics, accommodation and other temporary requirements for construction phase of the projects
Identify critical issues prior to commencement, and provide input on mitigation of budget risk, program and safety
Ensure that all meetings and records are completed before committing contractors and that the subcontractor complies with all WHS requirements of Geocon.
Liaise with client and stakeholder representatives to ensure project requirements are met, keeping up to date with any changes and informing the project team of any changes throughout the project.
Manage procurement for all early works packages to ensure that design documentation is up to date, and Scope of works, reports and specifications are included and specific to the project
Work with the Operations Manager & Director of Design & Planning at various stages and levels of management to establish and maintain procedures for cost control, procurement, design resolution, coordination of trades etc.
Management of all design & authority processes inclusive of but not limited to design development.
The successful candidate will have the following attributes:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field
3+ years’ experience in management of new construction and remodelling projects
Knowledge of construction methods and technologies, and ability to interpret technical drawings and contracts
Knowledge of building code requirements and scheduling methods
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with a constant eye on quality
Knowledge of jobsite safety practices
