Due to ongoing growth and an ever-expanding pipeline of work, GEOCON has brought design in-house.
GEOCON are looking to appoint a BIM Coordinator to assist in the delivery of upcoming projects. Based in Canberra, the BIM Coordinator will be responsible for all aspects of project-specific workflows including design coordination, modelling and scheduling in an advanced Building Information Modelling environment.
Key responsibilities include:
Implement and maintain BIM workflows and strategies on large-scale projects
Ensure all aspects of project workflow is completed in accordance with in-house guidelines
Create and modify Building Information Models and content included therein to defined modelling standards
Work with a Project Architects and project team to create high quality DA, tender and construction drawing packages
Conduct clash-detection and conflict resolutionImplement changes resulting from resolution of design issues and clash-detection of the 3D models
Extract schedules and other associated data from the Building Information Model
Participate in design meetings with the Project Manager, GEOCON design team and consultants to ensure a high level of systems compliance
Work with the BIM Manager to explore and assess the latest developments in BIM within a design and construct environment.
Apply the latest design technologies (including VR and AR) to large scale Building Information ModelsHave a broad understanding of various modelling, rendering and computational software.
Create, modify and maintain Revit Content
The successful candidate will require:
Expert knowledge of and proven practical background in Autodesk Revit and related BIM authoring and coordination software
Experience in construction documentation of residential or large-scale commercial projects beneficial but not essential
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work solidly within a team
Willingness to adhere to strong documentation and modelling standards
Show strong interest and an aptitude to working with technology in the design spaceExperience in Dynamo and Navisworks would be an advantageous.
Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritise effectivelyExperience working in a team (work-shared) environment
